I took a few art courses at KPU and at the same time continuing to apprentice under a Vancouver artist, Mr. Mah Zi Ping and then 2002 started to study under another Vancouver artist Mr. Huang, a portrait artist who eventually sponsored me into the Chinese Canadian art scene and from there to participate in art shows around Vancouver. Here is a a snippet of a few art shows I’ve participated in. It was intimidating when I started, showing with those who were twice my age and more. I even had some question if my paintings were my own (and not my teachers). I continued and hustled hard enough to get an honorable mention. Although I stepped back from doing shows for a while, to grow, to watch, and refine a few things in my life.
