When I was a little girl living in East Vancouver

When I was a little girl living in East Vancouver, BC.  There was a summer where a new boy and his family moved in next door. Since he was new, my dad thought it would be good for me to make new friends and go and play with him - since we were around the same age ( I think he was a year or two younger.) Well this boy's sense "fun" was to kill things like snails, slugs and worms. He would run around the yard and find worms, slugs, and snails to step on, throw on the fence to dry out in the sun, and cut in half. I went with it for a while but I absolutely didn't like watching this potentially psycho child kill things and I eventually stopped playing with him. I think my dad took it as me being anti-social, non-friendly. I took it as, I don't like killing things as much as that boy likes killing things. I don't know if I ever told my dad that - that was reason I stopped playing with him. Maybe I should have.

First time in whistler area, first time fishing

Image
@ Joffre lake. Caught fish(es) :) View this post on Instagram A post shared by S.Y. Lo (@syloarts) It was really a beautiful day / Weekend, I should say. We arrived at the cabin yesterday night, as we passenger-ed with Will and his girlfriend Sally. We had dinner with them in Coquitlam at Nagano before leaving to Whistler. The restaurant's sushi wasn't bad, but service is difficult when you're in a private room behind a curtain, how do the waitresses know you need anything if they don't come check up on you, and you don't have a buzzer. We arrived at night at the cabin and it wasn't long till we were off to bed. We drove around half an hour or more to get to the lake for your fishing adventure. Parking was difficult, because it seems as though this is a popular place for hikers and campers. And there was a wedding happening there at the lake. See the mini doc, and the red carpet? Well it's not supposed to be there, it was buil...

Ice Cream and Pizza, Happy 3 Year Anniversary!

Image
On this day boyfriend decided to take the whole day off to spend with me. ( I didn't know ) And wondered in the morning why he didn't wake up for work. We spent the morning Winners hopping- in other words, shopping at various Winners locations. I simply enjoyed spending the day with him :) We head on over to Steveston today for dinner, ice cream ( the best hazelnut ice cream EVER! from Timothy's Cafe ) Where the waffle is nice and warm and fresh!  We also go and get a pizza! A seafood pizza from Steveston Pizza Co. - It was a different kind of pizza for sure. Later that night I got a wonderful gift from him ♥, What it is, I'll share with you another day.

I can't believe I forgot to blog about this! - but I was honored to be part of Rogers proposal to Carolyn! So happy for the two of them as they've been together for a long time.  Congrats to them!  I was part of the helicopter station with Derek, Winnie and Jenn! *thump thump thump thump thump* ❤

Summer Solstice 2014

Image
It's the first weekend I get to get out on my own and into the sun with some friends. It felt nice yet a bit guilty I got to enjoy the sun without the better half who sat at home working very hard. BQ did very well to prepare the BBQ and brought majority of the food. It's the first time I see DJ - perhaps over a year. It was nice to sit at the beach, practice some ukulele and simply relax with some of my best buds.

A Dream to a Goal to Reality : The Summary and Aftermath of Release The Butterflies

Image
The long road to success is forged by dreams, plans, sweat, blood, hard work and good friends and family and sacrifice. It is truly a battle of will. You battle everything. You're in a fight with somethings you can't control. Time. Weather. People. The one thing you can control, but you're still going to be in a fight with is yourself and the decisions you have to make.  There is never enough time to do everything that you want to do - even if there is a set date for completion. Sacrifices must be made, even if a lot of effort has been put into the preparation of all things. Things happen and there is nothing else you can do but sacrifice for the greater good of all other things. The weather is never going to be what you want it to be. It's going to rain when you need it to be sunny, it's going to sunny if you don't care if it rains. It's going to be too hot or too cold and then in the end you're going to find yourself praying or asking some unse...

Hike To The Top

Image
We go for a hike to the chief, peak 2. Photo by: TW The day started not so well, it felt as though BJ had ripped my soul apart. You know when someone wakes you from a deep deep sleep. Your brain just doesn`t seem to adjust as quickly as if you were to be woken up naturally. That`s exactly what happened. Most of the hike was difficult because - one - I`m out of shape. Second - because I`m still half asleep. Note to self: At The Chief, there is a big public washroom. Do not go to the portable potties that is right by the parking lot. Do not listen to the boys when they tell you that there are no more washrooms beyond that point.   That`s what happened to me. I held my breath and went to the out house and a few steps later there was the giant public washroom and the boys went to pee there -_- *sigh*  I can only say that I woke up on the way up to peak 2, it was because if I didn`t pay attention, I would die. I later tell this story to my sister, wh...

Science World - Lego FUN

Image
I can't really re-call when the last time I went to Science World, it was probably when my cousin was here to visit. But LEGO was one big thing that I had to go see when they were in town. I kind of wanted to do the Adult event that was at night- but it never happened. This was the same day that the Lego store was opening up at Oakridge mall - we did go to check it out, but the lines were just too long. It was pretty cool though how they got a bunch of kids to participate to build a giant R2D2. Too bad me and B- found it to look like child labor masked as building lego fun.

The Man At The Station

Image
If anyone ever travels to Burrard Skytrain station on a regular basis will know this man. This man that plays the guitar so well. When I am coming up the escalators and hear Cannon-D I feel like it's going to be a wonderful day. That is one song I've actually claimed as my power song. Strange "power song". It makes me feel like such a winner when I play this song... that I've won. But it is a song that has been played out for weddings and now when I do get married, I'm going to have problems looking for a entrance song... or maybe my hubby will take care of that one. Well this day I decided after thinking for a few days before that I would buy a CD, so that I can listen at work. And Here it is.. I even made him sign it for me. :)

Vancouver Christmas Market

Image
Before the day really started, we obviously had work during the day and since today is Wednesday :) today is date night and we started our meal at a little sushi place on Seymour. I wondered if we dined there on days we didn't know eachother... how many times apart. Then it makes me think if we were to rewind our lives... how many paths we took would have cross paths. Later on that night we went to the Christmas Market. I've never been to one. I'm so happy that B- likes going to events and doing things like this. It makes our relationship a little more exciting and well eventful when there are places to go and things to see. I realized that being in a relationship that doesn't allow you to explore gets boring. You don't learn as much about one another and the both of you don't grow together with the kind of experience that nurtures a relationship. It is very important to move together in the right direction in a relationship. The Chr...
