My 150$ Christmas Budget

Image
This year I've definitely been living on a budget. So this Christmas I set one. My initial gifts were supposed to all equal to 100$ but that wasn't going to happen. However I was able to keep it all under 150$. How did I do this? Most of everything I gifted was homemade. FOR THE SISTER - 1) Home made Vinyasa Scarf - 15$ for materials and buttons. FOR THE NIECE and NEPHEW - 1) Coloring Book - 2$ @ Michael's 2) Hello Kitty Sticker Book - 5$ @ Michael's FOR SISTER'S WHOLE FAMILY - 1) DIY paper toy packages. Paper & Ink - Free. Clear coat paint - 5$@ Canadian Tire designs I got from  http://www.paper-toy.fr/   &  http://minipapercraft.blogspot.ca/ I spent a lot of time altering the original designs (enlarging them), printing them out, and cutting them out, spraying them with clear coat and scoring the fold lines. This ensures a longer lasting and better looking paper toys. 2) Box of Disney puzzles - 8 pack for girls & boys -(not phot...

Sleep or Passout

Sleep or Passout Well - yesterday I went on a pretty adventure looking for fabric paint. I went level to level in the bay in downtown Vancouver at PC to find out that I don't think that they have a kiddies / crafts section at all. Went home to walk around another mall only to find that whole mall doesn't have any fabric paint either. What kind of stupid mall is that?! That you're looking for this one little thing and it becomes so difficult. I end up getting a bag from winners for 40$ - and I look at the actual brands sales tag. As I'm in line to the counter - original price - 220$ - god - how much do stores over price their products? I text my friend- they call me up and he ends up coming to pick me up to go to walmart. Before going to walmart we go to a dollar giant and found the white - the other colors they had were neon colors. I'm pretty sure the crew wouldn't want those colors. We hit up walmart and found the rest of the fabric paint colors needed. As ...

A Good Day To Go Shopping

Image
Yeah I spent a lot of money today. But well worth it. I must say. Things I needed for myself and no more holding back. If today be the last day I live and I go to sleep and that's when I die. Then I had a good day. After work I headed to Metro to shop. I needed to get certain things off my chest. I went into Mac for the first time ever. The make up store. I'm going to be honest to say that every time I'm in front of make up displays I'm really like a deer caught in headlights. I don't know what's going on. There's way too much to choose from. I asked one of the workers there that I needed help in choosing a cover up. I had two big break outs from god knows what but they need coverage! Since I can't seem to pic colors on my own because the never seem to match my skin tone, so I left it to a professional. She was nice and helpful and found one that matches my skin tone. I buy 20$ cover-up and leave. Thanks Lauren! I head on over to Chapters. My friend sug...

Satisfied

LOL ... just a couple blogs back I said unsatisfied as a title... but this time I'm talking about my wardrobe which I now I feel like my wardrobe is practically GOOD, actually I'm going to get rid of some outfits I realized don't look very good on me. at all. or at least the skinnier now me. I walked in to spring shoes today at lunch looking for white heels to my surprise they had a few! and I was glad to find a pair that was simple and nice and pointy and not too high and not too flat ( flats I learned are bad for me! I'm very used to heels )I returned after work to try one one and purchased them. I've had two instances yesterday of getting guys saying hello to me as I was on my jog. One today when I was making my way to spring shoes. One thing is I had NO IDEA what any of them were saying to me so I end up smiling and waving them off and go on my way. I didn't know what any of them were saying because I had my ear buds in and I was listening to music. Today ...

Risk Taking With No Regrets

Image
Today was a no regrets day. I did something out of the blue at a time that was very un-agreeable with many others. I followed my heart knowing the risk I was taking. Since I've lived a pretty risk free life, I knew just this once wouldn't make a whole lot of difference in my universe. ( The specifics of this event will be omitted. It's a very long story ). It just felt right. I went in search for my ring today. Since becoming single, I can no longer wear all the rings I have in my possession since they are all from the last relationship I was in. I can't explain why but as I look upon those rings now I feel nothing but broken promises. So I went in search for my own ring(s) with my own promises, so my fingers would no longer feel naked. I went to quiet a few places in Guildford Mall in the company of B. looking for a simple plain band silver ring. You would not believe how hard it is to find one till you've tried. I ended up finding a ring set that was three in o...

Shopping @ MetroTown

Image
Me and My Cousin LX, went to Metro town today to get a bunch of things that we needed to get. We first ate lunch in the food court and did a bunch of shopping. We first hit up the pet store and I was so heart warmed to find the two dogs I want the most right next to each other. I really felt like I wanted them both! but in the end my heart directed it self to the Boston Terrier with its big paws. But the two seemed to be in love and wanting to play with one another I had to take pics. Here is a great shot of them two, it seems like they are talking to one another. Not too far from the Pet Habitat, an Art Box store opened and in there I found a giant pen which I bought to keep my giant pencil company. Only this time the pen has pandas on it. I also wanted to get the following images shown above but I held back. I got some new clothes, went to la senza and picked up some new underwear, some more lingerie that I think I will never get to use but it looks hot none-the-less to make me feel...

A Trip To The Forest Lawn Cemetery

Image
Worked out on the wii this morning and listened for the mail man. I finally got the charms I ordered from artbeads.com =) Every Charm that I have on my charm bracelet is a reflection of me or of an accomplishment or in memory of a place I've vacationed. I went to go visit my Art Teachers Grave. I haven't been there for a while and I miss her. Took the 123 bus with my cousin accompanying me. Got off the street across from flower shop and bought some flowers. Too bad Peonies are no longer in season, they were her favorite. I ended up getting chrysanthemums and posies. We walked to the grave. I haven't been there for a while and got lost along the way, but strangely where we got side tracked we walked passed a 'LO' family grave. Is this a coincidence that the one place we get side tracked to we pass a possible family member? I wonder. We end up finding her grave and I clean about it and placed my flowers there. I pray for her to watch over me and guide me. When I ...
