a Wave of Great Fortune

Image
This painting is part of my Swimming Luck Collection. Or should I call it "Swim in Luck" - Giving the collections name a double meaning where we are allowing luck to swim in. *think think think* I've worked on this painting for years, stalling in the midst of artist blocks and life events. But it's creation time lapse is here for the viewers.

Goldfish 5/5

This video has finally been put together. It was delayed due to editing time constraints and finding or should I say creating the right music for it. Yes a little tidbit. The music in the back ground is me playing ukulele and singing "la's and ta's" instead of the lyrics for the original song I wrote. I've sped up the music to be more upbeat and keeping with the time lapse. Well here's the final piece a part of the Goldfish series which is also in my Swimming Luck collection of paintings. Enjoy. It's been a long time coming.

Release The Butterflies

Image
Release the butterflies will be my first solo art show open to the public, happening on July 13, 2013.  I have been studying art since the age of 11 and Art has been a part of my life ever since. I specialize in two traditional styles of art, one is Oriental watercolor and the other is carbon powder art. The style of Oriental watercolor painting I specialize in is called Lingnan, it's origins from china it was created as a fusion of art from the North and South of the Orient. Myself being a Canadian, a lot of my art today is a fusion of the East and West. I am currently planning to hold my first solo art exhibition  'Release the Butterflies'  open to the public, On July 13, 2013 in downtown Vancouver. I am doing so for a number of reasons. One, it is one of my life goals to hold my own art show, but more importantly I have decided to host my own exhibition due to the fact that I may be one of the youngest remaining Lingnan artists in the Greater Van...

Goldfish Painting 3/5

Image
It has been too long since I've been away from youtube, but it's because I don't get paid enough to do it as a full time job. But I spent some time today to edit and record a commentary this video and I hope you do all enjoy. Speed of the video is sped up 1200% and it took about 2 hours to paint the fish. I hope you all enjoy.

Putting Up A Future

On Thursday I finished up the 6 canvas' and sprayed on the clear coat the seal them. Just in time for DJ to come and get me to go help me out and get them up. I wanted to keep it from the rest of the world where these are going up like a surprise. I had a strange feeling that I had to get these paintings done and up like some kind of recognition that this all is not in vain. That my life was not all in vain. I am living on a time limit. I only have so much time left to set up a series of events to alter and create the very thing that may define - ME. I finish the "Return To Me" series, only to imagine and start anew art series. One more beautiful in my minds eye and I can only pray that it physically manifests into something greater. I can only imagine and hope for a great art show at the end. When I was putting the finishing last strokes onto these paintings, I'll be honest, I was on the verge of tears. Thinking about how beautiful they were becoming, thinking - woul...

Koi In The Water

I did a sketch of this a couple vids back. Decided to buy some canvases when I came back from Calgary because there are some art show coming up and this would be one to enter. I have to admit this was the first time I did the Koi using the Asian style technique that one would use with watercolor with acrylic on canvas. I hope to do a lot more :) This painting too a while to do 3-4 hours long. The files are so big that while video editing it ate up all my memory. Freak! But it's that time again to clean out the old videos and filming footage to make way for the new! I've been thinking should I start a new blog? One this time mainly and purely focusing on Asian Artwork. Jotting down all that I can remember, techniques and notes and sketches I have into one single Asian Art blog. Focusing and remembering everything that I was taught. That's like 15 years+ of Asian art education. That's a lot! I'll be thinking about it. That will help me re-focus to remember why ...

He Calls Me Out

Image
I hung out with someone last night. A friend from high school and he calls me out on a few things I wrote in his year book. OMG - that was ten years ago! Like I remember who I particularly know who I was with during the spring break of 2000 if I wrote I missed you that spring break. Come on now! We hung out, watched movies, chill and chatted. It was nice to be with someone that I felt was really enjoying my company. By the time I noticed what time it was it was so late... I took a nap and next thing I knew It was morning time. He lives a couple blocks away from me so as drops me home this morning before heading to his seminar. I get home and all I do is sleep some more until the late afternoon like 2pm. John picks me up later on in the day after I filmed a sketch and post it. I shower and get ready for the night. John comes picks me up and we head out to Burnaby. I accompany him to a revscene dinner meet. Some of the guys seemed so familiar but I didn't say much. We soon qui...

A Little Piece Of Me

I filmed this the other night. Edited together. And thought long and hard about if I should put this video out at all. I don't want to give people the wrong impression. But then I think about the things that many of us do each day or things we don't do each day. How many people do reflect back on their actions? How many live and do things for a reason? I have my reasons and here's just one story of why I do what I do ... and that is play roller hockey. I can come across many people in my life. But my biggest question I fear to ask is... will you ever meet another like me again? ... I don't ask because I know...everyone is different. Everyone is to each their own. I am unique because every one is unique. Not one person is exactly the same as another, not even twins. This story of Mia, I've told a handful of times but now it's on video... it will be watched by hundreds...maybe thousands one day...maybe tens of thousands someday. But my word will continue on an...

Sad Mornings & Rejection

I had another one this morning as I had a dream with Darren in it. I woke up just heavy heart-ted and spent most of the day... shaking it off. That weird feeling that just covers your skin. I chat with my friend who seems to have the ability to make me laugh so hard and me... trying not to laugh out loud at work. Especially as we spoke about nicknames and shortcut names we have for certain things that were all made up during high school or shortly after it. For some strange reason he keeps telling me when he gets morning wood. Then I thought about it... I had a sad morning, people say good morning. So if he gets morning wood, should he say 'wood morning' instead? hahahaha sorry... it was so funny to think that up this morning when I was chatting with him. I'm going to try to start to devote myself to the Abs diet. Eating right ( to be honest I feel the effects already.. I was full a lot of the day today. I need to go and buy ingredients for most of the recipes. I'm ...

Sipping On Some Haterade

I've been working on this video for a while. Had to film different clips separately especially the one with the dog... catching him on different hours scratching my door in the middle of the night. I am working on some more videos currently but... it's a lot of work filming and editing. *sigh*

Painting Water 2

This video has been in the works of being edited for about a month! The full videos turned out to be 17gigs big. HUGE I tell you. It kept crashing my programs and causing them to lag. I had to upgrade my comp to pull it out and the software as well. The original filming time was 3 hours+ cut down to 6 and a half minutes. I had to learn how to make my own music with garage band, I had to mix it myself to be able to have music in this video so I can put it out on time. But here is the painting water 2 . On black.

Work Hard, Play Harder

Well I filmed this week, twice. The first time in many weeks. It takes a lot of time to edit and effort to film, I wonder if the rest of the world knows this. But this week has been hectic. Lots of working downtown. But since I work hard, I have to play harder! :) I haven't blogged much cause there hasn't been very much to blog about. Besides seeing Darren time to time. mmm I dunno. What can I say about work? Work: lots of work. The heater in our building is broken till monday. So I will be wearing very thin clothing till then. This upcoming weekend I will be out of town. No cell reception or internet for me. Basically Camping. I'll be crossing off a goal off my list ( maybe a number of them ) Darren says he's going to help me cross off 25% of that list. He's taking me to go on a weekend retreat to Vancouver Island. Bamfield. I've never been on the island, and not even on the ferry. LOL, I wonder if he can pull that huge feat off of 25 of my goals. Cause ...

Launching Project_To:You

I said to God today, if the scratch and win I buy today wins more than I expect it to ( 5$ ) I will launch Project _ To: You. I will post my two videos that I filmed a couple plus days ago. God won. He awarded me with 15$ with my scratch and win crossword. I won back my money and then some from yesterday as well. This video was filmed some time ago. On a night I had decided to let go of someone I'd been trying to let go of for sometime now. I filmed this with the thought of never having the chance to be with him. But by the end of it, my secret popped up in the back of my mind and I thought about everyone else I loved. That if I never get the chance to again, this is where I tell them I love them. www.projecttoyou.blogspot.com

My Name Is Dead Person

I don't use my full name a lot of the time when I introduce myself to people because the way I like to have it be called in English sounds like something else in Cantonese. Dead Person. I decided to post this video up because my friend just asked about my name yesterday. Many also wonder why I just don't have an English name. I never applied one to myself because I don't really know what English name would suit me. But I hope this Youtube Video explains somethings about me and my name and some little stories of me and names. :)

Do You Remember Asian Avenue?

Since starting to do youtube videos, I started to get personal messages / people visiting my blog to chat with me who turned out to recognize me from some where. They couldn't put their hands on it until they mentioned Asian Avenue and I told them what my nickname was. BB_Mouse. I used to be in the 604chat a lot chatting up and meeting new people. Majority was promoting. But I did meet a lot of great people and friends from there that I chat and still friends with till this day. So I decided to ask on youtube if other people remember Asianavenue.com before it turned to asianave.com. If more 604 people recognize me, great because I did lose touch with a lot of great friends who I met on there. I hope to maybe get back in touch to see how they are now doing.

♥ Update . Goal Update . Video Update

Image
I've been very Zen the last two days. I woke up this morning and worked out for about an hour before hitting the showers and got ready for work. I've decided that I would like to drop my weight down to 100 pounds. Maybe this way my tummy fat will go away. I just don't want to go get to a point where I'm unhealthy to be there. After the new year I'll be able to go get myself checked out fully. That condition that comes and goes with me has not come back for a while since I have cut a lot of red meat from my diet. Though I don't avoid it all together. I realized chicken is okay. I'm going to be scared though going in by myself with the whole checkup and all. On my own. Maybe it's for the better. The best of the best or the worst of the worse news would be only known by me. Whatever the outcome maybe, perhaps it is better for me to face it on my own. I will be stronger for it, no matter if it has the ability to break me. I think I spoke with this with Mia ...

T.O. Day Three . Walking Exploring

Image
After this morning I filmed and I left as I let it upload. I walked down Spadina and walked down towards Queen st. West. and stuck to one side going one way where I reached a park and turned back in time to head home. I hit up a couple and more stores that were in that area that were on my list, but I realized that the other shops I want to hit were further down. I hit up a trendy little shop and was tempted to buy my sister's little bundle of joy to be a gamma-go baby t-shirt. I also hit up another little rabbit stuffy that had a little rattle in it's head. Cute. Super Cute! I hit up Type, a nice little book shop that I can say I can spend more than an hour looking at the graphic books and other books they have in there. There I was tempted to get a children's book about a little rabbit as well for my sister. >_< I don't even know if it's a boy or a girl yet! Right next door The Paper Place. Where I was amazed to see some new innovative pop up calenders, very...
